Adam's campaign has fully funded! 🎉 A Beam employee is now supporting him on his journey through training and into work as a bricklayer.
But other Beam members need your help. Support the greatest number of homeless people to train up and get into work by giving monthly.
I was invited to Glasgow to help on a restoration project by someone I met on my bricklaying course.
The photos show the work I've completed as part of the NVQ. I'm nearly done now and have a couple of weeks full-time work booked in to finish up the last bits - after which, I'll be qualified!
I've started my course, thank you to everyone who has supported me so far.
I already had experience in this field but I'm being encouraged to do things I had never tried before.
I built a twisted pier! 👷
Thanks for all the donations and messages so far. I'm now booked on to start my training in 2 weeks. I'll let you know how I get on!
🎨I have discovered I like painting!
I have started short courses for people in recovery. It has really helped and I've met so many nice people.
I gave the painting to my six year old niece who I had not seen for four years.

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.
It's your money.
We work hard to ensure that you can give confidently.
A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
