I've wanted to work on mobile phones for years. I've been interested in electronics since I was a kid, and have been working on computer repairs and electronics since I was 12. These days, it's really interesting to work on technology repairs because the problems you see can be so complicated with the rise of smart phones. I really want to advance my skills in board repair and get on with fixing things. I love seeing how all the technology comes together.
I first became homeless 2 years ago due to an illegal eviction. The place I was staying in was in extreme disrepair. There were pests and water problems. My landlord wouldn't help me so I went to environmental health and was evicted because of that. The locks were changed and I lost all my belongings and my work tools. I went through the legal system to try to fight it but they dropped the case last minute and since then, I've been rebuilding my life and career from scratch. I went through a really rough period where I was sofa surfing and rough sleeping before I was referred to a service. I felt like things really started to improve when I changed my way of thinking and focused on what I could do going forward.
I've always loved to learn and I really get satisfaction out of fixing things. I like doing tasks to a high level and have a strong sense of pride in my work. This is why I'm really looking forward to my mobile phone repair training course. Once I'm done with my training, I'll be able to fix broken phones. I know that when I do this, life will get a lot more fulfilling!
