Javad's campaign has fully funded! 🎉 A Beam employee is now supporting him on his journey through training and into work as a digger operator.
But other Beam members need your help. Support the greatest number of homeless people to train up and get into work by giving monthly.
I have now finished my digger training and passed both my theory and my practical. Because of the experience that I had from Iran, the centre gave me some more advanced tasks to do and assessed me for my full NVQ - so I got an even better qualification than I thought I would!
Now I am working hard on my job search - I would like to build up my experience as soon as possible and get some good references in the industry. I am looking forward to being back on site. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks to your support I raised enough money to book the first stage of my training. This week I am completing my digger operator course and have done two days so far. I'll keep training and sit my tests on Friday.
I'm used to doing all of the practical side of things with my experience from Iran. So now I just need to study for the theory - wish me luck!

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.
It's your money.
We work hard to ensure that you can give confidently.
A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
