Rick's campaign has fully funded! 🎉 A Beam employee is now supporting him on his journey through training and into work as a carpenter.
But other Beam members need your help. Support the greatest number of homeless people to train up and get into work by giving monthly.
Hi all - lots of exciting news from me 🙂
The week before last I completed my training early, and I've now started full-time work as a carpenter!
It's been a very full-on transition as I start at 7.30am each morning and work through to 5pm. I'm still settling in after which I'll be able to focus on getting assessed whilst at work and attaining my NVQ 👊
I'll let you know how I get on and just want to finish by saying a massive thank you to all my supporters; I honestly wouldn't believe I'd be where I am today even 3 months ago. Thank you so much for all your help in getting me here.
I just wanted to say another massive thank you to whose who have supported me through Beam and to those who are at Beam as well.
I’m half way through my training now to be a carpenter and although I have found it hard sometimes adjusting to my new routine, I’m reaping the rewards. I'm proud of my new found determination and positivity. 👍
Many thanks again,

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.
It's your money.
We work hard to ensure that you can give confidently.
A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
