Terry's campaign has fully funded! 🎉 A Beam employee is now supporting him on his journey through training and into work as a gas safety engineer.
But other Beam members need your help. Support the greatest number of homeless people to train up and get into work by giving monthly.
After a few difficult weeks, I've finally submitted my portfolio! Now I'm just waiting for the accreditors to review my work and sign it off. After this, I'll book to do my final exam and will be qualified to work as a gas safety engineer.
This has been an amazing year of change. 2 weeks ago I celebrated my 2 year anniversary of giving up drinking. I'm now also 5 months without a cigarette. I'm feeling sweet! Hoping next year brings even more positive change.
Lots of good news!
⭐ I've been working hard and have completed my portfolio of work experience. I'll submit the photos of the work this week and it gets sent off to another body who review it. Then I'm allowed to sit my ACS course.
⭐ I've already booked my fault finding course for later in the year.
⭐I'm also working with Vets Aid to look at moving into my own place. It's a Vets nomination scheme so I will have to wait for something suitable to come up.
⭐And of top of all of this I quit smoking.
I'll keep you updated on how it all goes.
"You've changed my life, without a question"
It's exciting to have launched my second campaign! It means a lot to me - this qualification is going to change my life. I can look forward to freedom and getting on with my life. It feels proactive. Thank you to everyone who has and will support me.
I'll be releasing a video to let you know how it is going...! 🎉

Too often homeless people are forced to lie out of sheer desperation. We think it's better when relationships are built on trust and honesty. Beam verifies each member in 4 ways:
1. Referral: every member of Beam is referred by a registered homelessness charity or local authority.
2. Interviews: before their campaign launches, each member is interviewed twice by a Beam Member Manager.
3. References: we take references on each member from the charity who refers them and someone in a position of responsibility.
4. Profile: we take great care to verify information in a member's story is true.
It's your money.
We work hard to ensure that you can give confidently.
A caseworker or "Member Manager" is an employee of Beam who helps those referred to Beam to plan a crowdfunding campaign and supports them through training and into work.
All Member Managers are trained professionals who specialise in supporting vulnerable adults by focusing on their strengths and abilities.
