Things have been very difficult recently for me and my 8 year old son. My landlord decided that he needed his apartment back for major refurbishment, and we were evicted from our home. We got put into a hostel which was 2 hours away from my son's school. We had to wake up at 5am to beat the bathroom queue in the hostel and catch the 6.15am bus to get him to school on time. His tired eyes just about broke my heart but I was comforted that he sometimes managed to sleep some more once we got on the bus! A hot water bottle and a blanket helped make him warmer for the 97 minute bus ride.
I would have to say being evicted from my home has been the most horrific experience I have had. I will never take having a roof over my head or even my own bathroom or kitchen for granted ever again. I want to get back into work now so that I can provide for my son and we can have a nice home together. I would also like in the future to be in my own home, settled without worry of being evicted or having to move for the foreseeable future.
I am super excited to launch my campaign, I am truly amazed at the stories of others I have read and the support they have received from people. I also look forward to coming back one day to help others too. I am truly grateful to be a recipient of people's generosity and will always remember as I pursue my dreams that it was aided by people who believe in the miracle of giving!
I'd love to do the security guard training as it is something new to learn and a chance to start a new career. It will also allow me to save up and one day I would love to take the Legal Practice Course to become a solicitor.
