My family and I had to leave our sponsor's place suddenly and we have been living in a hotel for the past five months. Finding a home has been very challenging, a lot of the times they won't accept us because we receive benefits, or they want us to have a much higher income than we can manage because we have a child.
Knowing that people want to support us and help us achieve our dream feels incredible and hard to believe. The search for a home is very difficult without knowing a lot of English and living in an unfamiliar country. But struggling to give my child warm, proper meals has been the hardest challenge to navigate.
My husband and I work really hard and were qualified professionals in Ukraine, but our jobs are low paid here because we are still learning the language. I find it very difficult to accept financial support but I am so grateful for everyone wanting to help.
Before Beam, I had almost moved three times already, but something always goes wrong at the final stage and hope is lost again. When we finally do, I can't even imagine the happiness me and my family will feel.
My hopes for the future and that we've learned the language better and can navigate things more easily. And most importantly, I pray for peace in Ukraine, our home country. We're thankful for the help we've received from Britain, and we're just trying to make a better life for our family.
