I was consistently working for 18 years, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit I lost my job. Because of this, my family and I were evicted from our home because I wasn't able to cover the rent anymore. Since then, I have been trying to survive and navigate this challenge with my children. We were put in hostels for 14 months which has its own challenges, so I really want us to have our own home again.
I have been trying to find a job but I don't have access to the necessary resources. Not having a laptop and having a broken phone makes job-hunting really challenging, so I am really excited to receive support from Beam and finally have access to the tools I need to look for employment!
My hope for the future is to get a stable job, so that my family and I can have a stable and financially safe situation again. I want to feel part of something by supporting vulnerable people. My long term goal is to become a nurse so I am really looking forward to start my new job journey and to get closer to that dream.
