So far, I've been facing significant challenges, particularly in the areas of housing and employment. My family and I had to evacuate our home due to an emergency construction issue, which led to us temporarily living in a Travelodge.
This situation has been incredibly disruptive, especially for my children, who have to endure a six-hour round trip every day to attend school. Despite these challenges, I've been actively seeking work and have an upcoming interview for a prison officer role. My background primarily lies in construction, and I recently obtained my SIA license, opening up opportunities in security-related roles. I'm hopeful that once the housing situation stabilises, I'll be able to return to our previous property and secure a job that allows me to provide for my family.
Looking ahead, my main hope is to regain stability for my family, both in terms of housing and employment. I'm optimistic that once the repairs are completed on our home, we'll be able to move back in and resume our normal lives. Additionally, I'm eager to secure a job that not only supports us financially but also aligns with my skills and experiences. I'm determined to find a role that allows me to work full-time, preferably on weekdays, and I'm open to occasional Saturday shifts. My ultimate goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for my family and ensure that my children have the support they need to thrive.
