Hello, I'm Sobi. I've always found joy in reading and translating, and I have a soft spot for travelling too. It's been a journey for me, moving to the UK and starting over. One of the biggest challenges I've faced was when I was an asylum seeker, with no right to work or live like a normal person. It was tough, but it's in the past now.
Currently, I'm living in Home Office accommodation, but soon I'll receive my eviction notice. It's stressful and confusing, not knowing where I'll end up. But I'm not just looking for a place to stay, I'm looking for a home. A place where I can live my life just like everyone else. I'm also seeking work, ideally as an English teacher for foreigners or in education. I've been applying for jobs and have had a few interviews, but I'm still searching for the right fit.
Knowing that there are people out there willing to support me in achieving my goals is incredibly uplifting. It gives me a sense of validation and boosts my confidence. I'm excited to launch my Beam donations page, as it allows people to contribute directly to my journey. In two years, I hope to be back in my old job, translating books into Farsi again.
