Hello, I'm Stanley. I've been living in the UK since July 2023, and it's been quite a journey. I've been working hard to adjust to life here, facing my fears and striving to maintain my independence. I've been fortunate enough to find work at Sainsbury's, and I'm hopeful about a potential opportunity at Asda. However, my current living situation is challenging. I've been staying with my Uncle since August, and while I appreciate his hospitality, I long for my own space.
My biggest challenge right now is finding a suitable home. I spend a lot of time commuting, which is not only tiring but also expensive. I dream of living closer to my work, reducing my travel costs and giving me more time to rest. I'm not picky - I'd be happy with a room in a shared house, especially if it's in Wigan. I think having my own space would also improve my mental health, which has been a bit shaky with all the changes and the pressure of settling into a new country.
I'm incredibly grateful to Beam for providing me with this opportunity. The thought of finally having a home of my own makes me feel flabbergasted! I'm excited about launching this donations page, and I'm touched by the kindness of people who want to support me in achieving my goal. In two years' time, I hope to not only have a stable home but also to be able to give back to the community. I believe that we rise by lifting others, and I promise to follow in the footsteps of those who have helped me. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
