Making someone else happy makes me really happy. Sunny days also make me feel happy.
My children and I had to flee our family home near the end of last year as I was experiencing quite intense domestic abuse. The relationship with my ex-husband broke down and this is what caused us to become homeless. I'm currently living in temporary accommodation with my 4 children which is being provided by Enfield council. It's quite a way away from our community, but I'm grateful that we're together and safe. I have more mental space to focus on my children as well, and I'm doing the best that I can to support them - the split and the move have been really significant life changes.
I'm looking to work as a teaching assistant. I want to do this because I've previously worked as a teaching assistant as well as an emotional health worker. I've also hosted workshops within my community to help teach children including those with special educational needs. I know that right now I can add value to children who need some support through the pandemic.
I'm currently pursuing part time studies in counselling, which Beam is supporting me to complete! My dream in the future is to contribute positively to society with the skills that I'm learning. I want to see and support everyone that I love to find happiness and contentedness too.
Launching my campaign means that I'm on my way to giving myself and my children the life that we deserve. We've been moved away from our community but hopefully, we can begin to rebuild a community for ourselves. I feel like I've been given a jump start to get to where I want to be: living to our full potential seems possible now.
