Hello, I'm Aaron. Life has been a bit of a rollercoaster recently. I've been sofa surfing at friends and family's places, trying to keep a roof over my head. It's been tough, especially as I've struggled with some mental health ups and downs, but I'm feeling better now. I've been in shared accommodation before, but it was stressful and not the best environment for me. I'm hoping to find a place of my own but with my current budget, it's a bit of a challenge without a job.
Work has always been important to me. I've had a few jobs in the past, from retail to office work at a housing provider. My last job was at a council in the housing repairs department. I'm looking for full-time work, and i've been applying for jobs and I'm hopeful about a role in maintenance work for housing associations. I'm also keen on becoming a painter and decorator, and I see this as a stepping stone to getting into housing.
Knowing that there are people out there willing to support me on this journey makes me feel incredibly thankful. The thought of launching my Beam donations page fills me with excitement about the potential to get into work and secure my own property. In two years' time, I see myself working and living in my own place - that's the dream. When I achieve this goal with Beam, I know I'll be over the moon. To everyone who donates, I want to say a huge thank you. Your support is truly appreciated.
