I came to know Beam in early February 2024. I am a new refugee in the UK and would like to start an independent life. I decided to move to a stable home first and then find a job with the help of Beam.
In a situation when you feel destitute someone giving you a hand means a lot. It gives you the feeling that someone understands you and helps you to achieve your goal. It not only gives you a good feeling but also motivates you to not give up and consequently you can make a difference not only in your own life but also in the lives of others.
When you receive tangible support from someone, you feel compelled to give back and share that same support with others who may need it. It feels great and it gives the feeling that I should also make a difference in someone's life. When you have lived experience of receiving support to achieve your goal then you understand the importance of the support and the feeling between when you were helpless and when you achieved your goal with the help of someone.
In the near future, I would like to have a suitable job and sustainable accommodation. With this I can support my family and can help others. Consequently I can be a active and cooperative member of society and the country.
I want to be healthy, productive and do something positive for myself, my family and then for humanity.
