Hello, I'm Adrian. I've always been a resilient person, but recently, life has thrown me some curveballs that have tested this resilience. I've been dealing with diabetes for over 20 years, and it's been a tough journey, especially post-Covid. I've also had to navigate the end of an eight-year relationship where I was not just a partner, but a full-time carer. I'm currently staying with my mum and her husband, but I'm ready to move on and find a place of my own. I miss the security of having my own home and how it made handling life's stresses a bit easier.
What makes me happy is being back in contact with one of my two sons after a 12-year separation. I'm looking forward to building a brighter future with him, and being closer to him in Wales is a big part of that plan. I've been a healthcare assistant for a while, a role that feels more like being a guardian. I love my job and it doesn't stress me out at all. My goal is to secure a job in Wales, and I'm confident that with the support of Beam and my current employer, I can make this happen.
Knowing that there are people out there who want to support me in achieving my goals makes me feel quite humble. It's a wonderful feeling to know that even in your lowest moments, there are people rooting for you. In two years, I see myself living beside my son, working, and building a strong relationship with him. I'm excited about launching my Beam donations page because it gives me a sense of being supported. To all those who donate, I want to say: "You do not know me, you may never meet me, but in helping me, you have changed my life for the better. I thank you and wish you the very best in your own life." With your support, I know I can overcome these challenges and be my best self.
