To me, success would be becoming a working professional and bringing my family back together to live here in the UK with me. I look forward to having my children beside me again since it is no longer possible for me to live in Iran with them.
When I came over to the UK, seeking asylum, I knew no one that could support me. I've been homeless for the past year and a half, moving between four hostels while I got all my documents sorted out. Moving between hostels was very difficult for me because each time it felt like I was losing everything - my possessions, my friends, my life.
Not having a stable place to live makes you feel like you are nothing but things changed for me when I reached out to my key worker for help. She told me it is better to ask for help than suffer alone in silence and I realised there are services that can help me improve my life, such as Beam.
Accounting has always been my dream job, I love analysing numbers and working with finances. My husband is an accountant back in Iran and seeing his passion for his work has really motivated me. I want to be a successful businesswoman and show myself and my children that I can do it and that I am worth something.
