I am an incredibly positive and resilient person. I love learning and I’ve done different qualifications at universities all around the world - I’m completing a phD in “Social design in time of crisis” at the moment. I also love teaching and helping to inspire kids, encouraging them to be creative and independent thinkers, and to see the world differently.
Earlier this year, some things happened that really changed my situation. My marriage ended, and I suddenly had to leave the house I had lived in for 15 years with no idea of where to go. After some difficult nights, I found a room with a friend which is where I’m living now. It’s great to have somewhere that I’m comfortable again, but it’s been difficult juggling paying rent, completing my phD and providing for my daughter at the same time.
I’m now in the process of building my teaching career again, which will enable me to support my daughter and myself, and continue doing what really fulfils me - studying. In 5 years time, I hope to be working as a lecturer and living in my own place. in a dream world, I'd be doing my second phD too!
