I came to the UK from Sudan just before COVID hit, I was living in Northern Ireland and was looking forward to starting a new life. However, with COVID and lockdowns, getting a job was difficult. I came to London hoping for more job opportunities but am still struggling to find work. I'm so grateful for Beam's support to help me get back to work.
I used to work as a taxi driver and as a bus driver. I really enjoy driving, however, I have only just got my UK driving licence so I need to wait a while before I can get a driving job. Meanwhile, I am looking for any job that will help me support my family. I have 4 children and I would like to be useful to the community. I'd really like to be a good father and I want to be able to support them in achieving their dreams. I wish for a better life in the UK, I think with a little bit of help I can get there.
The thing that makes me happiest in life is seeing the new life we are creating for ourselves. I get to see my children grow up and every day I see my wife progressing with her English too. I'm so grateful for support from this community, I always try to help people even with the little things so I'm thankful to receive help.
