My name is Alisha and I am from New Zealand. I have been living in London since 2020 and unfortunately it hasn't been the life-changing experience I was hoping for, especially due to the pandemic and finding it very difficult to find work. I was diagnosed with PTSD and psychosis last year after living in a very upsetting household where my housemates would make me feel like my life was in danger. Being hospitalised because of my mental health earlier this year was one of the hardest things I had to go through and I felt like my freedom had been stripped away from me.
However, I was determined to live a positive life again so I turned to God and also found a love for drumming! I also made sure I applied for jobs even while I was in hospital. I have really good experience working as a receptionist, admin assistant and a waitress. I am organised, love getting tasks done from a to-do list and being in an office environment. I had a very unfortunate incident in my current job with a manager behaving unkindly to my mental health concerns therefore I decided to leave the job.
I am hoping Beam can help me find a new job that I love, which will allow me to live in a place that is safe and happy, and continue learning to play the drums and being connected to God.
