I count myself extremely lucky to be married to my lovely wife and have two amazing children. Being a husband and a father makes you aware of your responsibilities in life. You need to provide a stable and secure living environment for your family. Unfortunately, after losing my job I've not been able to do this.
My family and I have been living with my father but he is no longer able to accommodate us. It's a single bedroom apartment and he needs us to move out. We've been given a date to leave but without a job, it's hard for me to be able to financially support this move.
I've come through tough challenges before and this is no different. Before moving to England I was living in Sierra Leone and experienced the civil war. My biggest challenge there was survival. I made it through that situation and I'm determined to make it through this one.
I've always worked in construction but have recently found it hard to secure a long-term position where I can progress and earn the money required to support my family. I want to use the experience I have in the industry and pair it with extra training to boost my employability potential.
