I fled my home country of Mauritania at the onset of an ethnic cleansing planned and executed by the beydans. I found refuge in Senegal until, then I moved to France before coming to the UK. I stayed in the shadows until I finally applied for asylum, which I was granted this year.
I had built a bit of a life for myself in London, but I was suddenly told that I needed to move up North. I found myself in a situation where I was unfamiliar with the area and I knew no one. For the two years of them processing my application, I was unable to work.
Needless to say, my life has not been easy and the past few years especially so. But I'm in a position where I want to rebuild my life, I want to create something great for myself, and I'm ready to take on the world.
I want to become a security guard, and I'm ready to do what it takes. I want a stable job and a steady income so that I can find a nice property for me and my puppy. Somewhere we can call home - finally.
