I love working with children and it comes naturally to me. I have 2 children of my own and seeing them happy is what I live for. It's not a responsibility I take lightly and I'm determined to keep my family smiling even when we're going through this tough time.
Myself and my 2 young children are currently living in one room within a flat that we share with others. A few months ago we received a letter from our landlord saying that he was evicting us. The place is cramped and as my children grew I knew it would become difficult to live at all comfortably but at least it was a consistent roof over our heads. It's not a nice feeling to know that things are out of our control now but we're trying to stay positive.
When I approached the council for help, things started to improve. My caseworker was so supportive and immediately started to help me look for somewhere suitable for us to live. She referred me to Beam as finding an affordable home will only be possible if I start to work. My benefit cap will be lifted and I'll have much more choice over how and where we can live.
I'm excited, not only to do something that will have a positive impact on my family's future but also have the chance for me to work on myself and feel financially independent. I haven't worked in a while due to looking after my children full time so this qualification will put me in a good position to get back into the working world - a challenge I'm ready to take on!
