My life changed dramatically when I became homeless with my daughter. We began to sofa surf with friends and family, never staying in one place for too long. It was a scary and uncertain time, not knowing if and when we would receive help.
During the fear and uncertainty, I've been grateful to learn that I'm not alone. There are people out there who want to help and who are willing to make sure that my daughter and I are looked after. It's been amazing to see the kindness and generosity of others during this difficult time.
However, what I really want is to be able to stand on my own two feet. Even if I need help, I want to feel like it's not a failure. I want to be able to provide for my daughter and give her a stable home. But for now, I'm grateful for the support and help that we've received and hopeful that things will get better.
