I was referred to Beam after my grandparents decided they wanted to downsize and sell their house where I have been living for some time. Sadly they told me I needed to find somewhere else to live.
Asking for help is something I find difficult but since receiving Beam's help, it's shown me that asking for help is okay. Knowing I now have support makes me feel more at ease about my situation, it shows me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
On top of this, I have been dealing with a bereavement. Only a few months before I found myself at risk of homelessness, I had to take an unexpected emergency trip to the vet with my dog. She very suddenly collapsed, leaving me with the difficult decision to put her to sleep.
Once I move into my new home it will feel like a weight has lifted off my shoulders and I can focus on taking the next steps to fulfiling my dreams.
In 2 years time I would like to be financially stable and have taken the steps to make my dreams a reality, eventually living with my partner in our own home. When the time feels right I would also like us to get a dog.
