My dream is to live somewhere I could swim every day and the sun is always shining. I like living here but it's great to have options. Getting a job means that I would have the ability to save and build towards a future that I've carved out for myself.
My housing troubles began a few years ago when I was working as a labourer. The income wasn't steady and although I was paying rent at the time, I didn't have a proper contract and ended up without anywhere to live during periods when I couldn't get enough hours at work. I was forced to sleep rough until St Mungos found me and supported me into a hotel.
Despite my situation, I've always tried to stay positive. I have lots of interests and and these have been my anchor throughout these difficult times. I'm a big fan of music, movies, comedies and I watch a lot of motivating videos online too. Being able to lose myself in these things has really helped get me through.
I'd love to work towards getting my security licence as I like the idea of keeping others safe. I also think it's a stable career and there will always be a need for this role. Whilst I work towards that I'm happy to get started in any role at all, just so I have an income and can earn enough to move out of my temporary accommodation. Getting a job will really change things for me!
