I've been passionate about fashion for as long as I can remember. My Dad's an artist so I think being creative is in my genes. I love drawing and designing clothes, and helping other people look good. It's really special to see the look on someone's face when they feel great.
I worked in retail for over 10 years, managing a clothes store in London. I absolutely loved it! So I had no doubts or worries when they asked me to move to a new store. I gave up my room and moved my life across the country. It was devastating when they didn't keep their promises. I abruptly lost my job and was left with nothing. I went to stay with someone I thought was a friend. But this turned into an abusive situation. It was really hard to talk about how my life had been turned upside down by the people I trusted the most. I felt so embarrassed and emotional - it was easier to disconnect with my family than tell them the truth.
I'm now staying in a women's refuge and am taking control of my life again. I can't wait to be back learning and working and this course will give me the professional knowledge to move up in my dream career. I will make my family proud again. I love and miss them so much and want them back in my life. Giving me this chance would be incredible.
