I came to the UK over 20 years ago, For most of that time, I've had issues with my immigration status. Long delays and lack of funds to speed it up meant that I only received the correct status last year. I don't have access to the benefits system but I'm now allowed to work so finding a job is really important to me.
I started sofa surfing recently due to a breakdown in relationship with my previous landlord. I had to leave straight away so a lot of my belongings are still there. It's a difficult situation as I can't access housing services until I have a job but it's difficult to find work when my housing situation is unstable. Despite this, I'm determined to make it work.
I would ideally like to find a role in a company that's socially minded as I want to have purpose to my day, whatever form that comes in. However, getting into any type of work will really improve my situation right now. I don't like wasting time or being unproductive so I'm really keen to get started on this journey!
