When I first came to the UK in 2015 I did not know a word in English. It was really hard to communicate with people at first but now I feel so much more comfortable. I also relied a lot on charities since I came to the UK because I wasn't allowed to work.
I came to the UK as an asylum seeker and I currently live with a host family. Unfortunately I have to move soon as they are getting another asylum seeker to live with them. Also my children are close to joining me in the UK so it would be nice to have my own space!
I've spent some time volunteering with a Refugee Centre and the Salvation Army. I love working with different people. That's why I think hospitality would be a good first step for me to get started quickly. I can deal with difficult situations and I have great attention to detail. Hopefully, working will help me to afford some coats because winter is almost here!
In the future, I'd love to build my career by getting some UK accountancy qualifications once I've found a stable job! It's what I did for 20 years before coming to the UK and I do love working with numbers.
