Second chances don’t always come around, but I have been lucky enough to receive a second chance at life.
There was a time in my life when I had it all but by making bad decisions and surrounding myself with the wrong type of friends I lost it all. It started with the passing of my father which caused me to have a mental breakdown, my coping mechanism became drugs and alcohol which only fuelled my downfall even more.
In 2019 I got involved in an altercation which ended up in me being arrested, losing my job and family. I was angry, lost and I was no longer in control. I had to do better.
Since the offence took place, I have turned my life around, completing an alcohol and drug rehabilitation programme, whilst volunteering to sponsor others who suffer from addiction problems.
My main goal now is to get back into employment and continue to grow as an individual. I have previous experience working in the stock market, but I would really like to look at the prospects of working in a security or customer service role as I really enjoy engaging with people, be that face-to-face or over the phone and both roles would allow me to do that.
