My family and I moved to the UK due to the war in Ukraine last year. Fortunately, we've found a permanent home with the help of the council, but I'm really keen on finding a job to give us the stability we need for a good life.
I've been working hard to improve my English and gain new skills since we arrived. In Ukraine, I held various jobs - I was a sales manager, and also ran my own business in the food technology industry. Since we have been in the UK, I have decided to focus on finding a role in construction as that will give me the flexibility I need to support my family. Recently, I completed my CSCS course and obtained a forklift license, so I'm excited about the possibility of starting work soon.
It's been hard for me to think about long-term goals since everything changed with the war in Ukraine, but I feel optimistic about the future. As long as my family and children are healthy, I'm happy. I am looking forward to spending quality time with my family, living a normal life, and contributing positively to our new community.
