I am interested in going into support work as it's a rewarding career. It's not the kind of job you do for the sake of it. I want to contribute to the wider society we live in. I'm currently receiving support from a charity and I have a close relationship with my support worker. It feels great. I feel like I'm not alone. I feel like I have someone I can count on. I want to be that person for someone else.
Earlier this year strangers moved into my accommodation and important documents were stolen from my bedroom. It has never happened in all my years living in the UK. I got PTSD from the horrific experience of having my identity stolen. It triggered other mental health issues - I developed anxiety and depression.
My friend decided I couldn't live there anymore, so I stayed in their living room for two months until I was able to find housing with a charity organisation. During this time, I was on furlough and when it ended it left me in a really difficult situation. This is why I want to find a job as soon as possible so I can improve my finances and become independent again.
I'm so glad that there are so many people who can empathise with the situation of others, especially after the pandemic which has left a lot of people in a challenging situation. The pandemic made us realise we aren't alone and together we can improve a lot of things.
