I love dancing and singing even though I have a bad voice! It always cheers me up. I also really enjoy my volunteering. On Thursdays, I volunteer at an organisation that supports refugees. I enjoy helping out and I also get to meet lots of new people.
I have had a difficult life because I am from Syria and there is war in my country. I had to leave because I was not safe due to my sexuality. I travelled from Syria to Turkey, but it was still not safe for me, so then I came to the UK as an asylum seeker. I am very grateful to the council for finding me accommodation in the UK so I can start a new life here.
All the challenges I went through did not weaken me, but rather increased my self-confidence and kept a smile on my face. I had to think that I will be good in the end. I used to think just day to day and had no plan for my life, but now I am able to think about my future.
I learned that I can make money working and then I can improve my skills for the future. It is my dream to work in a beauty salon and be a masseuse. I know I must take it step by step so I want to get into a job and then I can start my Beauty Therapy course to help me get to my dream.
