Moving to a different country has been very challenging for me and my family. This country is very different from Afghanistan. It’s a huge culture shock. I've been living in a hotel temporarily for just over a year now. As a father and husband, the hardest part about living in the hotel was seeing the effect it had on my wife and children. I have three children who want to move into a settled home and potentially a new school. This was difficult when we were not sure where we were going.
We are so thrilled to have found a property and it's been a huge relief knowing that Beam can support us with furnishing our home. I’m especially thankful for my caseworker Simon, who has been so great and supportive throughout the whole process.
I am looking forward to building a community for ourselves. I hope me and my family settle into the new area quickly. My next priority is finding myself a job that I enjoy and I would love to use the money I earn to buy a car.
