I have been living at home all my life, but staying there became suffocating. I was clashing all the time with my mum so I moved out earlier this year and have been sofa surfing ever since, staying between friends' houses and my dad's.
I got a job recently but ultimately want to do a security course because I like taking care of people and helping people if they need help. I enjoy having the awareness and watching out for other and being vigilant. That responsibility of looking after people who might be more vulnerable than myself is something I really like, and I also find the law stuff about security roles quite interesting. Getting into security would also be great because I know those jobs are always available. In the future I'd love to be able to fund a plumbing or electrician course for myself; having my own business would be the long-term goal.
I've felt less stressed since leaving home, and my energy and my environment is much better. There's some trauma from the arguments with my mum, but those aren't happening anymore and working helps me to stay motivated. As well as this, sports are what makes me happy! I'm really into football and am watching the world cup at the moment. Most of my family are Man United fans so I've always followed them. Boxing really helps me deal with things too, as well as talking with my friends who support me, or sometimes I just decompress on my own and watch a TV series.
It's good knowing there are people out there willing to help and support people they don't even know. Just reading someone's story story and caring enough to help shows you have good hearts.
