I am at the point in my life where stability is my top priority. I recently secured a space at a homeless shelter which is another step in the right direction. My aim is to get into employment as soon as possible but I currently lack the tools needed to successfully start work again.
Three years ago, I was rough sleeping on the streets of London. I found myself homeless due to a breakdown in family relationships which never recovered. This had a negative effect on my mental health and led me to being diagnosed with anxiety and depression which I struggled with for the most part of my duration sleeping rough.
I eventually went and got some professional help to overcome my circumstances which has been working well for me. I'm really grateful to have received the support I did at the time, it's made a real impact in my life.
Getting into work will mean I'll have the finances to give me options regarding accommodation and lifestyle I'll be able to do the things I have been dreaming of for the last three years without having to rely on anyone and I'm really excited for the future!
