My housing situation has been very unsettled over the past few years. I used to live with my grandmother acting as her main carer. When she passed away my cousin and I moved in. Unfortunately, he was arrested soon after. I couldn't keep up with the rental payments and had to move out. I then moved in with my dad but this didn't work out as we both needed our own space. Thankfully, the YMCA was there to support me into temporary accommodation and avoid the risk of having to stay on the streets.
I’m a very creative individual, in my spare time I like to read books on philosophy, astronomy and cosmology. I've started writing my own original sci-fi novel called “Proxima Centuri”. At the moment my housing situation is distracting me from fully committing to these hobbies and securing stable employment. I'm so grateful for the support of the hostel but I can not focus my energy on work until my housing situation is secure.
I have experience in warehouse work, have just completed my SIA license and waiting for my badge to arrive. While I'm waiting for my license I will take on warehouse work to provide some income and stabilise my financial situation.
