I'm most comfortable when I'm helping people out. That's why being a security guard appeals to me so much. I can speak 7 different languages too which helps when working in a city as diverse as London! I've not worked in translations before but I've used my language skills in previous jobs to help with any communication issues. It's satisfying to be that person.
I became homeless when it became overcrowded in my family home. I was sofa surfing and sleeping rough for a while too. It was a really dark time for me. I'm now living a hostel and although I'm happy to have somewhere to live, it's only temporary and living in such a communal way comes with its own challenges.
I want to change my situation for the better and a big part of that is getting into work. I'm motivated by the idea that once I have my security license, I can work towards a productive and stable life for myself. I'm excited to put money from my first pay packet towards a rental deposit. That will feel like progress.
