I moved from Nigeria to Ukraine to pursue my dream of becoming a pharmacist. I became fluent in Ukrainian and felt in love with the country. But then, the war hit and it became too dangerous for me to stay.
I had no choice but to move again—I was heavily pregnant and I didn't know where to go; so I took part in the Family Scheme and moved here to the UK. But things didn't go as planned and after I gave birth, we ended up homeless. The hospital staff helped me find accommodation, but it's not enough to cover all our expenses—especially now that my baby is getting older!
Life has been incredibly difficult since, especially as a single mother with no job experience in this country. With your support, I hope that I can get a job that works around my son's school hours and hopefully build a better future for the two of us here!
