Hi everyone, I am so excited to have a campaign on Beam!
My name is Bukola and I am a young mother of a two year old girl.
Recent years have been challenging. I moved to the UK in October 2019. It has been so hard to look for work because there is no childcare near where I live and childcare is so expensive. Now that my daughter and I have been recently moved into a more stable temporary accommodation, I am ready to start work with the help of Beam.
I hope to find a job soon as a care assistant. I want to be a care assistant so I can take better care of my daughter, pay my bills, and because I enjoy caring for people. I used to care for my grandmother and it taught me a lot of skills about how to make someone else happy.
I cannot wait to start job-hunting and find the right job for me. In two years, I really hope that I will be studying nursing and living in a better space with my daughter. I love being around her as well as hanging out with friends and families, just catching up. I have grown up listening to music, especially gospel music (Donmoen Cece Wians and Tope Alabi) and music always lifts my mood.
To be honest, in the future, I just hope to be living a better life with my daughter with a stable job. A dream of mine would be to go on holiday to somewhere sunny like the Maldives.
