I worked in construction while living with my uncle. He kept raising the rent and it got to the stage where it was not affordable anymore. Unfortunately, as I could not keep up with the rent he asked me to leave. I did not have anywhere to go so I ended up sleeping on the street. This was a really challenging experience for me, mostly because I was not able to sleep at night. Without sleep, I start to find it really hard to function properly and was experiencing a range of different issues mentally and physically.
Thankfully, I was picked up by St Mungos and supported into emergency accommodation where I'm staying now. Things are a lot better for me at the moment, I can sleep peacefully and I have a secure space. After taking some time to heal, I'm ready to get back into work.
My ultimate goal is to get into the Metropolitan Police. I've started my application but want to build up some relevant experience in Security where I can develop some transferable skills.
