Hello, I'm Joy.
I find comfort in the simplest things in life, like the sound of birds, a bouquet of flowers or a walk in the park. But my greatest happiness comes from being surrounded by loved ones, especially my five beautiful children. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am currently separated from them. I am a survivor of domestic abuse and my current living situation is far from ideal. It's been incredibly hard but I am determined to rebuild myself and regain my independence and self esteem.
My goal with Beam is to find a stable job. I used to work as a teacher in a secondary school, teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) to a diverse class of students. I loved my job and I am open to similar opportunities but I'm also open to other possibilities. I've been applying for jobs recently but it's been challenging due to certain requirements and dealing with everything else going on in my life.
I need some support to get back on my feet and that's why I'm here. I believe that a job will not only provide me with financial independence but also improve my mental and physical well-being. Knowing that there are people out there who want to support me gives me hope for a brighter future. I'm excited about launching my Beam donations page because it represents a huge positive change in my life. Your donations will help me buy essential items for my job search. I can't express how grateful I am for your kindness and generosity. One day, when I am in a position to do so, I will pay it forward and I live for the day I'll be reunited with my five children.
