I would like to start work as a support worker because I like making a change in people’s lives. I’ve been a customer who has experienced bad service from a support worker and sometimes it can lead to you having a bad day because someone hasn't been nice to you. I would like to be the person to make that change. I've been applying to roles to support people back into work and general advisor roles.
I've had a lot of housing issues over the past few years. I had no recourse to public funds and was in temporary accommodation. I was offered a property through the council but it was really far away from my child's school so I couldn't accept it because it meant we were going to be isolated. I have since moved, but I've had ongoing issues with my neighbour so I'd like to get back into work as soon as possible so that I have the flexibility to move into a property that suits our needs.
I'm a sociable person so I think I'll be really good at a role like this. In two years time, I hope to be in a higher paid role. I'm someone that really values progression so I'm going to continue to apply to other positions once I'm on my feet so that I can get to where I want to be.
