I've been living on my friend's boat for the last 7 months of so, and they have let me stay here if I do some odd jobs for them in return. It's only a temporary solution, but I don't feel comfortable being in a homeless hostel right now. I sometimes struggle to make food and keep my phone charged but I'm very practical, so I can often find solutions to whatever issue I am facing.
Throughout my life I have worked within the construction industry, as a labourer and as a groundworker. I know that if I am going to make long-term changes, I will need to get back to work and earn some more money. I used to have the right cards and qualifications but they have all expired now, so I am really appreciative of the support to renew my CSCS card, and get my Traffic Marshall ticket. I have also asked for some support with Internet and a solar-powered charger, as I would like to be able to have a back-up if I can't make it to a cafe or a library.
I'm also being supported by the wonderful team at the Salvation Army, so I'm very hopeful that with all this extra help I can get back on track.
