Hello, I'm Dave, a proud father of three beautiful children. I've been living in temporary accommodation since January. I've never slept rough, but homelessness has been the biggest challenge I've faced. I've worked in security, CCTV and as a door supervisor in the past, but currently, I'm out of work. This has had a toll on my mental health, but I've been managing it well. I've also managed to stay sober for over a year now, which is a big achievement for me.
Things that make me happy are working and going to the gym, and keeping myself healthy and in shape. But, I'm not just looking for any job. I'm looking for a stable job, one that can support me and my family. I've been applying for jobs recently, and I'm ready to work over 30 hours a week. I don't mind if it's a day or night shift, I just need a chance to get back on my feet. One of the main blockers in my job search is not having the proper shoes for interviews and the right clothes to start a job.
Knowing that people want to support me to achieve my goal feels great, especially during these tough times. I'm excited about launching my Beam donations page because of the help I can receive. I can't wait to send a thank you message to every person who donates. Two years from now, I see myself in a stable home with a stable job. I know achieving this goal with Beam will feel amazing. So, here's to taking the first step towards a brighter future.
