As a mother of two, I never thought I would have to face the challenges of rebuilding my life from scratch. After being married for 24 years, I found myself in a situation where I needed to leave my home due to domestic violence. My priority was to ensure the safety of my children, and I knew that being near my family would provide the support we needed during this difficult time.
However, the cost of living crisis had hit hard, and the rental market was extremely expensive. I wasn't sure how I was going to manage, but I was determined to provide a safe and secure home for my children. They were the driving force behind my decision to start fresh and build a new family unit of three.
As someone who always helps others, asking for help myself was a strange feeling. But I was overwhelmed by the level of support I received from friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers. Their generosity has given us the opportunity to move into our own property, and I am grateful for every bit of support we have received.
My children and I are excited to start this new chapter in our lives. Moving into our own home will take some time to get used to, but I know that we will create new memories and turn this house into a home. My ultimate goal is to be happy and provide my children with the love and support they need.
