Hi there, I'm Derek. Life's thrown a few curveballs my way, but I'm determined to turn things around. I've been homeless for the past four months, living in temporary accommodation, and it's been tough. But I've not let it break me. I'm a hard worker, with experience in manual labour, Fork Lift Driving and construction. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and I'm eager to find a stable job that will help me secure a home and provide for my family.
Losing my job was a huge blow and it led to me losing my home too. I've been applying for jobs constantly, eager to get back on my feet. I'm a dad to a wonderful 14-year-old girl who lives with her mum, but I want to provide a better life for her. I've made mistakes in the past, like a drink drive offence, but I've learned from them and I'm committed to making better choices. I'm also working on sorting out some old parking tickets with the council, and I'm hopeful that I can negotiate a repayment plan.
I'm really excited about launching my Beam donations page. I can't wait to start working again and to have a place I can call home. I'm grateful for any support you can give. It means the world to me to know that there are people out there who want to help me achieve my goals. In two years' time, I see myself in a stable job, progressing in a company and providing a secure home for my family. When I achieve this, I'll be over the moon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
