I arrived to the UK during the height of the pandemic. When I arrived, I had to quarantine in a hotel and I used the limited money that I had to buy everyday essentials. By the time I was able to leave I had no money left to my name and ended up having to sleep rough in the streets.
Even though I was sleeping rough I didn't allow this to put me down and I continued looking for work. At this point I was no longer presentable no one would let me in the building or I wouldn't get any calls back as it was clear I was homeless.
I was starting to lose hope, I had left my daughters in Brazil so I could provide a better life for them and I felt like I was letting them down. My luck started to change when I was approached by the Single Homes Project who supported me into accommodation.
Thankfully, I'm in a much more stable position now and with the support from Beam my I aim is to secure employment within the hospitality sector. I believe with your support I can really achieve this and continue to build a life where I can support myself and my children.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
