When I was 16, I pursued my dream and enlisted in the army as a chef, driven by my deep desire to serve my country. Over a decade, I cooked for fellow soldiers, preparing meals for groups ranging from 15 to 400. These experiences boosted my confidence, and I wore my uniform with immense pride. I gained a family in the military.
In my final year, an unexpected back injury changed my path. At the same time, I had also started a new relationship, and it felt like the right moment to bid farewell to the army and explore life beyond the military. Life was filled with hope as I embraced a loving relationship, moved in with my partner, and found out we were expecting a boy.
However, the strain of providing for my family as well as the pandemic took its toll, leading to my battle with depression and anxiety, along with the loss of my home and job. Now, with Beam's support, I'm determined to rebuild. Starting over is not easy, and a laptop would significantly aid my job search. Assistance with clothing and travel expenses would help me greatly.
I'm on a journey to rebuild and be the best father I can be.
