I am a very organised person, who likes to plan for the future and be prepared for all situations, which I cannot do at the moment because of my current situation.
Since moving to England I’ve lived in a mixture of temporary housing arrangements, which have ranged from hostels to shared housing. Unfortunately, due to the outburst of the COVID pandemic in March 2020, I lost my job. I’m now struggling to keep up with the rental payments and have fallen into arrears. If this situation continues I could lose my home.
Baking is one of my passions. I had a life-changing experience after attending a baking class which not only transformed my understanding of baking but gave me a feeling of self-empowerment, self-love and an appreciation of life. As well as baking I also enjoy spending time with close friends, doing anything from gaming to outdoor activities.
I believe I have what it takes to be a great support worker. I want to help others and make a positive impact in whatever setting I am placed. I strongly believe that people from all walks of life should be respected and shown love. I will use my natural skills and previous experiences to fill my client’s life with humour and make their hearts' smile.
I want to use the opportunity given to me by Beam and their supporters to propel me into social work. In a few years, I want to be a well-recommended Social Worker and start growing my personal project into a small business.
