I am a professional engineer who had to flee his country because of the war. I sought refugee status and subsequently moved to the UK. It was devastating leaving my family and work behind. I was working in the technology sector on payments. I also have a wife and a two-year-old son.
I was new to this country, so I struggled to find work and a comfortable place to live. It was difficult to find a house because I was not working, and landlords refused to rent me an apartment unless I had a job. I was able to find shared accommodation by myself, however, due to my back pains, I still found it difficult to find a job.
I was so happy when I found out my wife and son could move to the UK. It was hard to find a bigger apartment to live with my family, but we found temporary accommodation that could house us all. Now, I am looking for work that will get me some money which I will use to support my family.
Being a security guard is something I am interested in. Due to my previous experiences, I've enjoyed working with technical equipment. I will like working with CCTV cameras, operating and scanning devices and working on the computer.
Once I've saved enough money in the future, I would like to take professional courses and a master's degree to secure my dream job, which is going back to the technology sector shaping the payments system.
